Details
Description
This release brings general availability for job vacancies in the Talent Marketplace on single architecture, creating a more connected talent experience while simplifying implementation and administration. By surfacing personalized vacancy recommendations based on an employee's skills, experience, and aspirations, the feature helps employees more easily discover internal opportunities within their organization.
Administrators gain a central place to configure vacancies, a full set of job vacancy APIs, and an SFTP import option, while end-users see job recommendations directly on the home page and gain visibility into how their skills match each opportunity. Recommendations are driven by an AI-powered match score that considers skills, experience, preferences, and career path.
Business Need
Internal mobility is a proven driver of retention — employees are significantly more likely to stay longer when they have access to internal opportunities. Marketplace customers migrating to single architecture previously faced inconsistencies across configurations and integrations, which increased complexity and fragmented the talent experience.
By delivering a unified, configurable, and extensible experience on the Cornerstone platform, this release reduces implementation and administrative overhead, gives administrators a consistent central location to manage vacancies, and helps employees clearly understand where they are a strong fit and where they may need development.
Key Features
- Job vacancies in the Talent Marketplace are now generally available on single architecture, delivering a more connected and consistent talent experience.
- A full set of job vacancy APIs is available on the Cornerstone platform, allowing you to create, update, delete, and retrieve vacancies, with an upsert API for reliable syncing from external systems such as an ATS.
- Administrators can centrally configure vacancies, including enabling job vacancies, customizing labels, and controlling which fields are visible and how they are ordered on the detail page and filters.
- Skill detection can be enabled for vacancies, assigning detected skills at a selected proficiency level based on capability preferences, with control over how many skills are associated with each vacancy.
- An SFTP import option is available using a standardized CSV template and a one-time mapping setup.
- End-users receive personalized recommendations with advanced filters and full transparency into the match score across categories, and can apply, bookmark, share, or dismiss opportunities.
Deployment & Considerations
These features are available in Stage during UAT and in Production with the production release, and require Talent Marketplace to be activated. Two main permissions apply: Manage Talent Marketplace for the admin configuration within system settings, and the permission to view job vacancy opportunities for end-users. Administrators should review the updated behaviors — particularly the new vacancy APIs and supported fields — and work with their account team to plan migration, validate configurations, and align integrations.
Note the following limitations: job vacancies do not associate with organizational units other than the location OU; job alerts and digest emails are not available in this release and are targeted for the November release; vacancies inherit skills from their linked job, but function and level are not inherited; skill detection does not support detecting a target level; and vacancies do not support constraints or availability, so all job vacancies are visible to every user with permission to view them. Additional job fields through OU association are targeted for November. Reports are available via Reporting 2.0 for job vacancy metadata.
