Details

Description

Talent Marketplace jobs are now generally available within single architecture, giving employees transparent visibility into career opportunities so they can own their development, identify skill gaps, and take targeted upskilling or reskilling actions. Jobs are now managed centrally within Cornerstone Job Management, which directly powers the Talent Marketplace experience and replaces the legacy HR data job roles.

Administrators can enable career exploration and job listings, configure which job fields appear and in what order, display a carousel of employees currently assigned to a job, and define how many jobs a user can mark as aspirational (default three, configurable up to 15). Recommendations are driven by a match score that considers skills and proficiency, career preferences, and career path alignment, while excluding current, previously held, dismissed, and out-of-range jobs.

Business Need

Employees often don't know what roles they can move into next, or how to get there. By surfacing transparent career trajectories and skill-gap insights, Talent Marketplace empowers employees to drive their own focused development while helping the organization retain and grow talent.

For administrators, single architecture simplifies the administration of Talent Marketplace by removing the need for Nova integrations and eliminating data sync issues that affected the legacy HR data model. Centralizing jobs in Job Management with modern Edge import and export capabilities reduces administrative overhead and lays the groundwork for future reporting enhancements.

Key Features

  • Talent Marketplace jobs are now powered by a direct integration with Cornerstone Job Management, replacing the legacy HR data job roles.
  • Administrators can configure Talent Marketplace more simply, controlling which job fields appear, their order, recommendation match-score weighting, level-based restrictions, and match thresholds.
  • Enhanced next-job detection drives both the career exploration graph and career paths, using a breadth-first search to find the shortest path between a user's current and target job.
  • Job sharing notifications are configurable and managed centrally through Cornerstone email administration under the Talent Marketplace email action type.
  • A streamlined skills experience replaces skill actions with an interactive skills flyout where users view skill descriptions, proficiency, and ratings.
  • A new Cornerstone Developer Platform API retrieves a user's aspirational jobs and career paths, supporting integrations such as career coaching and development planning tools.
  • Users can create a development plan directly from an aspirational job, supporting structured career growth.
  • Terminology has been aligned from job roles to simply jobs across the experience.

Deployment & Considerations

These features are generally available with the July release for single architecture customers who have Talent Marketplace. They will be available on the stage environment at the start of UAT and in production with the production release. Talent Marketplace requires activation by Cornerstone, and these features require Job Management activation.

A critical prerequisite is that Talent Marketplace must be activated before Job Management, otherwise jobs, functions, and levels will not flow through correctly. Two new permissions are introduced under the Learning Experience category: Manage Talent Marketplace for configuration access and Can View Job Opportunities for end users; neither supports constraints. Note that Talent Marketplace in single architecture displays only skills from a capability model defined for a job — not skills from functions or levels, and not competencies. Several legacy options have changed: career path enablement is no longer a toggle and is automatically available, action plans tied to jobs are replaced by development plans connected to aspirational jobs, and skill matching now focuses on overall proficiency rather than self-declared and detected skills.
