Details
Description
This release integrates job-based succession planning with the new Job Management architecture for Cornerstone Succession customers on single architecture. Organizations can align succession decisions to each job defined in the new Job Management module, evaluating successors against standardized job requirements rather than ad hoc, role-by-role assessments.
Administrators can view active jobs from the new Job Management directly on the Manage Successors page and add successors for those jobs from the same interface. Jobs such as Data Scientist, Finance Manager, and Marketing Analyst surface in both the Job Management admin pages and the Manage Successors search, keeping the succession workflow tied to a single, consistent source of job data.
Business Need
In larger organizations, managers often assess successors for similar roles across different functions, which makes succession outcomes feel subjective and erodes HR visibility into who is genuinely ready. Inconsistent evaluation criteria lead to uneven decisions and late detection of talent gaps.
Job-based succession planning addresses this by evaluating successors against standardized, role-specific requirements. Managers make more consistent and objective decisions, HR can identify talent gaps earlier and at scale, and employees gain clearer transparency into the skills required for future roles. The result is a more structured and scalable way to run succession programs.
