Details
Description
The Reporting Assistant provides an AI-powered conversational interface that lets users find, run, and explore reports through natural language queries directly on the reporting page. Instead of navigating through menus, users simply ask a question, and the assistant suggests the right report, confirms intent, and surfaces key data insights.
The feature evolves the former AI Assistant Create a Report capability into a new conversational experience accessed through the Reporting 2.0 landing page. It does not create reports using AI; instead, it uses semantic search to locate and open existing reports — whether user-created or templated — that match the query, and then provides insights and guidance. Users can ask follow-up questions such as which division has the highest overdue trainings, or request a graphical visualization of the data.
Business Need
Finding and interpreting the right report traditionally requires hunting through menus and navigating multiple screens, slowing the path from question to actionable insight. This friction increases the time and effort needed to access data and can discourage users from exploring their reporting fully.
By offering a conversational, on-page interface that suggests relevant reports, confirms intent, and highlights key insights, the Reporting Assistant delivers faster answers with fewer navigation steps. This streamlines data interpretation and helps users move from question to decision more efficiently.
Key Features
- Users can find and open existing reports using natural language queries powered by semantic search.
- The assistant provides AI-generated insights and answers follow-up questions about the data within a report.
- Users can request graphical visualizations of report data directly through the chat interface.
- The assistant is accessed through an integrated on-page experience on the Reporting 2.0 landing page rather than a global access point.
- The assistant respects all current user permissions when surfacing reports and data.
Deployment & Considerations
The Reporting Assistant is available as a Closed Beta and is offered only to customers using the AI Assistant. Participation is not automatic — customers with a participation request should reach out to the designated Cornerstone contact to be enrolled.
At this time, the feature is limited to transcript and compliance reporting. It does not create new reports; it only surfaces, explains, and visualizes existing user-created or templated reports. All existing access permissions are enforced, so users only see reports and data they are already authorized to view.
